Hopeless Romantic

I mentioned on my previous blogs that as much as possible, I’d try to do this 30 days challenge in consecutive days. But I failed after day 6 so I’ll try again starting here with day 7. BEWARE OF SPOILERS

Day 7: The most heartbreaking scene.

For today’s challenge, it took a bit of my time to decide. In fact, after a lot of thinking, I only managed to narrow down to two pairs. But after a self-debate, I decided to talk about Yano Motoharu and Nanami Takahashi of Bokura ga Ita.

If I am not mistaken, I was around grade five (10-11 y/o) when this was aired on a local anime television. On the commercial, Bokura Ga Ita was described as one of the famous and best selling shoujo mangas in Japan. The plot wasn’t really discussed but the information given is that it’s about a sweet couple’s life.

I had no idea on what this anime was about but because I found the art rather cute, I decided to watch it. But because I had school and the airing time is within school hours, I wasn’t able to. But luckily after a year, it was re-aired. Finally able to watch it, it was one of the best moments of my life.

This is one of the anime that I got myself addicted to. I found myself thinking about it every second of the day. Praising the characters, smiling, tearing up on sad scenes and waiting for the episode to be aired the next day. Back then, we had no internet yet so the only thing that gave me BGI is the television (thank you great anime channel!).

I waited each day just to watch it’s episode. And I just grew to love the series.

Yano Motoharu. Popular and handsome. He gives off a playboy vibe and at the same time, a carefree and lovable guy vibe. Yet despite these vibes, he’s in a dilemma of trust. His attitude did not impress me at first but soon found them justifiable after learning about his past. (ex-girlfriend; trust issues)

Nanami Takahashi. Not the most beautiful, smartest or the most outcast in the series. Just your typical girl; unlike any other stereotype female protagonist in other shoujo series. She’s described as cute and baby-faced. She shares the same name as Yano’s ex-girlfriend. She dislikes Yano at first but soon falls in love with him after circumstances and interactions.

The couple didn’t start smoothly. In fact, Nana was rejected at first. She just decides to be by his side even not as a girlfriend, but as someone who cares about him. But Yano realizes that he’s already fallen for her. And finally, they go out officially.

The two deal with adjustments and problems. Adjustments within themselves, to each other and to everyone else in their background. Problems arise, when more of Yano’s past was revealed regarding his ex-girlfriend Nana, his ex-girlfriend’s sister Yuri, and when Yano’s bestfriend fall for Nanami.

Honestly, when I reached the part of Yano’s past, I had a hard time even if I wasn’t in the situation and even if I was at a young age back then. For some reason, I felt myself standing in Nana’s shoes and getting a stab on my chest. That’s why I understood why they had a cool off.

As each episode airs, I feel myself getting more and more engrossed. It amazes me how Nanami and Yano are willing to improve themselves for each other. They are not perfect. Nor are they perfect for each other. But they are determined to be with each other.

Now… for today’s theme? Why this pair?

I remember this episode when Yano and Nana were talking about memories. And I believe this is one of the things that made Yano a unique and deep character. Nana says she thinks memories are wonderful.

And Yano says, “Human memories are too vague. Thinking something has color when it doesn’t, making things more dramatic than they really are, glorifying things… It gives new greater meaning than was actually there. That’s why I don’t believe any of this talk about beautiful memories.”

Another is “I’ve always been asking myself this question. Am I a memory? or is the memory… me? Are we nothing but a collection of memories?”

Enter, episode 26, finale - We were there.

For some reason… before this episode aired, I had a bad feeling. On episode 25, giving the next episode preview, finally the meaning of Bokura Ga Ita was revealed to me. It meant “We Were There”

And I just… found it rather sorrowful. We were there meant something that’s already in the past. I started thinking… does that mean Yano and Nana’s relationship is something in the past?

The next day… I finished the series and I swear, I cried buckets of tears.

The episode shows Yano and Nana’s inevitable separation. Yano has to leave. Nana has to stay. And what were Yano’s words? “Ever since I met you, I believe, I was meant to meet you.”

And this little scene with the bullet train doors closing right between them? Nana chasing the train… Yano running back… and the last scene with Nana unable to do anything but to stare at the train? It was the most heartbreaking scene I’ve ever witnessed. Until now… nothing has matched the pain and sadness I felt back then. Why? Why do they have to separate? They are both in love with each other right? They are committed to each other. But why?

They learnt everything together. They managed to be who they are because they had each other. They accepted whatever each other’s flaws.  Past, present, decisions, everything… but why?

When credits were shown, everything just got back to me. Their beginning, neutral moments, falling in love, when they became a couple, their happy moments, sad moments, and lastly… “We were there…”

Suddenly everything started to make sense. Yano’s beliefs, words, feelings, everything. And all I could do back then was to not accept that my favorite anime’s ending is like this. I did think I was a bit over acting considering that they aren’t even real. But I don’t regret those tears. This story, fiction o nonfiction, real or unreal, it touched my heart.

Months later…

I found myself crying again. Not because I still couldn’t get over but because, there is a continuation. Since we finally have internet access, I found the continuation. And up to this time, I managed to finish this piece when Yuuki Obata-sensei finally ended it.

Truly Bokura ga Ita is a masterpiece. Several years ago, I thought episode 26 is the official ending of Bokura Ga Ita. But I am just so joyful that it had a continuation. And yet despite the happy ending of this series, the train scene? It’ll always be in my memory. And it’ll always be the most heartbreaking scene.

Day 6: The best kiss

A kiss is not really new especially in shoujo manga. Usually, we fans just wonder when the kiss will happen because we just know that it’ll happen. Most shoujo manga, end the series with a sweet kiss. But for this blog, I think the best couple for this day’s theme, is  the pair: Ryuuji Takasu x Taiga Aisaka of Toradora.

At first, I didn’t really think I’d enjoy Toradora. Well first, we have a tsundere with the the common tsundere look. The personality, the height, the chest (yes it adds to the insecurity) and the violence. And we have a guy who’s misunderstood because of his looks. And when they’re together, the guy is usually bullied.

Though that was at first. I just thought that it seemed all too typical. The girl beating up the guy. But soon after a past is discovered, a certain form of understanding and empathy comes between them and voila, they’d be in love.

But when I finished the series, I had no regrets. If I did, I regretted giving it a judgement.

Ryuuji. The tall guy with a delinquent’s features. Misunderstanding is in the air cause of initial judgement by appearance. Beneath that appearance, is a really calm guy who’s independent and is good at domestic work (due to family issues). Initially, he likes Minori, Taiga’s bestfriend. But as the series progresses and he interacts with Taiga more, he falls for her.

Taiga. The tsundere. The palm-top tiger. Clumsy and violent. A personality she developed through her childhood; feeling unloved and not cared for. Though beautiful and cute, her hormonal development still adds to the insecurity she feels. Guys confess to her but she rejects them though Kitamura’s is the one she regrets.

Ryuuji and Taiga’s relationship is something that can be compared to some kind of alliance; not exactly friendship. They both formed plans to help each other in winning each other’s bestfriend’s hearts, though their plans usually failed.

Though throughout the series, the alliance formed turned into a deeper relationship and into love.

This pair is pretty predictable but I liked it. Even though it is, I think their progress is smooth. They looked good together. Not because they had a lot of interaction, but because in everything they did, I saw them not hiding anything but being themselves. Let’s say Taiga and Ryuuji have the chemistry.

The kiss. Why is this the best kiss for me? There are a lot of shoujo manga there. But why them?

When I browsed the 30 day challenge for this day’s theme… I actually had a hard time thinking who’s the couple with the best kiss because… I was thinking… “the kisses were pretty ordinary… cheesy music, pink lights, bubbles” but nothing actually struck me… until I remembered this pair.

This was a rehearsal for their wedding. And we see Taiga insulting Ryuuji’s lips. Ryuuji kisses her and she starts insulting him again but… “Just like I thought… it’s dry… like dry wilderness…” Ryuuji makes a face but his face warms up more when she says…” but it was warm… really warm.”

They share more kisses. And we hear Taiga say “Once more… one more…” the scene shifts to their toes, in which Taiga stands on her tip-toes just to reach him.

I just thought this scene was so cute. I remember that day when I reached this episode and I was all teary-eyed watching this scene. It made me feel warm all over inside. I couldn’t explain it very well but of all the kissing scenes I’ve seen in anime, this has to be the cutest. This has to be the most romantic. This is definitely the best kiss.

Day 6 - Ryuuji x Taiga - WARM - Challenge 6 Done

Here’s a blog that might get a lot of negative reactions? Anyway SPOILERS ahead for those who haven’t finished until season 2.

Day 5: The pairing with the least chemistry

For day 5, I’ll be choosing Morita Shinobu x Hagumi Hanamoto as the talk of the day. Because I ship Shinobu x Yamada (I will post this pair on Day 21 or Day 25)

In line with my Day 4 blog (which is the pair with the most chemistry), chemistry is found in couples who form understanding with each other though not necessarily vocally/verbally stated. Wavelength is also something I mentioned in which the two people seem to find themselves in the same wavelength, is somehow the same with having chemistry as they say.

And the lack of chemistry… for me is something I found in these two. I admitted above that I ship Shinobu with someone else but that is not the reason why Shinobu and Hagu lack chemistry for me.

Morita Shinobu. He’s the weirdo of the group. Weird decisions, personality, creativity or whatever you may call; Shinobu is a mystery. No one particularly knows what he’s thinking or why he does things. He has his own reasons on why he does things. And even his expression of love, is weird itself.

He falls in love at first sight with Hagu but like stated above, it is expressed in very odd ways, like taking pictures of her and uploading it in the internet. Calling her a mouse, and various funny scenes we all have witnessed. But deep down his weirdness and expression, is a thoughtful person who truly cares for his friends and of course to Hagu.

Hagumi Hanamoto, aka Hagu. A gifted artist, isolated by her love for art. Even at the age of 18, her figure is that of a child’s which is used as a gag in the series in most occasions. Raised by an easily-irritated grandmother, Hagu develops her skill in art by herself through isolation. That’s why her socializing skills are below average. It is only when she met Takemoto, Shinobu, Ayumi and Mayama that she finds true friends, that she can even consider family.

Hagu treats both her love pursuers as friends. But later develops her own affections on Shinobu. She was clearly unaware of it at first. She was unable to understand why she felt embarrassed… why she felt odd.

The ending is one of the things that made Honey & Clover popular. And as we all know, even though Shinobu and Hagu loved each other, the relationship didn’t pursue. It was Hagu’s choice to go with her uncle. Most fans were terribly hearbroken-ed by this. First, because of Shinobu and Hagu’s unfulfilled love, second is for Takemoto’s unrequited love and third is the fact that Hagu chooses none from them and goes to her uncle.

The lack of chemistry. Like I said, I believe chemistry is a form of understanding between two people. A form of bond that makes two people comfortable with each other, point the negatives at each other, but still with respect. Not necessarily two people sharing the same exact thoughts or personality but rather, two people who understand each other even beyond their differences. We all know that no two persons are exactly the same. And chemistry is not about being the same but about a special connection of two people and as if saying “we can work out together.” Take note of the word together.

Love and chemistry are two entirely different things. And no one says that love can only be felt with those you have chemistry with. And for this pair, even though they are in love, they aren’t in the same wave length. They have different goals, dreams, thoughts that just won’t work out together.

Maybe it will, but one side will have to sacrifice. In this case, Shinobu has to sacrifice. Since Hagu got in an accident, he has to sacrifice his time, his life. Of course, love is about sacrifices, but remember, I’m talking about chemistry. It may be sad, but as much as fans hoped, that is how Honey & Clover ended.

Just an ender, I just want to say that I don’t hate this pair but I don’t particularly adore it either. Maybe one of the reasons is yes, I just don’t see the chemistry in them. I also want to say that at the start of the series, though Shinobu fell in love at first sight with Hagu, I really wanted Shinobu with Yamada haha.

Day 4: The pairing with the most chemistry. 

Chemistry is such a big word.  Before deciding on a pair, I actually researched about what chemistry really is for I’ve always heard of the word. I have grasped it’s meaning through observations but I really haven’t given it a lot of thought.

So according to what I have read, chemistry between two people is a sort of understanding between them. Having chemistry with someone is finding someone right in the same wavelength as yours. So for this blog, I’ve decided to talk about Moritaka Mashiro and Miho Azuki of Bakuman.

This blog may be short compared to the other 30 days shipping challenge blogs for I have blogged about this pair (Only Kiss) especially the ending. So in this entry, I’ll be talking more about why they have the most chemistry.

For me this pair is perfect for the word chemistry.

Mashiro. He’s your typical guy with typical decisions and a practical way of thinking. He draws as a hobby but doesn’t consider it as a dream to pursue for he knows that it isn’t as easy as it seems. His world changes when he meets Takagi but his dream is only fueled when he finds out that Miho wants to be a voice actress.

Miho. Mashiro’s classmate (and became a seatmate) and his long time crush.  She dreams of being a voice actress but keeps it a secret. She pursues her dream after the confrontation with Takagi and Mashiro saying that they will create their own manga.

Mashiro caught in the moment, proposes a wedding when their manga becomes an anime. (And she will be the voice of the main female character).

Surprisingly, Miho agrees. Unknown to him, Miho all this time has always liked him as well. Though her agreement has the condition that they won’t see each other until they live their dreams to be able to focus and will support each other through email/text messages and occasionally, calls.

Chemistry. Wavelength. In reading Bakuman, there was hardly any physical contact between the two of them. Not much of holding hands, hugging, and kissing, often found in most love stories. And yet, until the end, they proved their love to each other after ten years of plainly communicating through messages. (Of course there were exceptions such as when Mashiro was hospitalized.)

Most people can’t take long distance relationships. But these two… it wasn’t only a simple LDR. They are the ones who decided and approved of not meeting each other.

As we also know… these two are both the shy types. I can’t remember a scene of them actually describing and introducing themselves to each other. They both managed to know each other through observations. Through looks. Through their feelings. It was pretty silent. That’s why it amazed me that they managed to get this far in ten years with no petty fights or whatsoever most couples face.

Seeing them together up until the end just made me all teary-eyed. I know that they’re not even real people to shed tears of happiness on… but they shared an inspiring story to all of us.

Romance is not only physical. It does not depend on dates. On pick-up lines. On the number of gifts. Number of hugs. Number of kisses. Not only is there trust and faith in their relationship. There’s love. A love that’s so strong, it gave them the perfect wavelength.

Day 4 - Mashiro x Miho - WAVELENGTH - Challenge 4 Done

I am very overwhelmed that people are liking my Day 1 and Day 2 blogs TT^TT I am encouraged with this challenge (though I still have 27 more haha)

Day 3 - A pairing that needs to happen now

Now? Means now. So for this blog, I’ll be talking about another famous shipping: Monkey D. Luffy and Nami of One Piece

Well one thing I would like to admit is that I just recently started One Piece (I know am such a loser :l). I never had the chance to start it before because I was a bit reluctant with the art style. But then I was always curious about why people love it. So despite the reluctance, I added it to my to-watch/read list.

But because my list is a really long list, I was left behind. This vacation is the only time I have to actually read it. Been reading it for a week or so and am currently at Chapter 500 so I guess I won’t be talking about the timeskip yet.

Nami. The cute (she and almost everyone claims that) and very skilled navigator. Loves orange, money, treasures and of course the people important to her. Dreams of completing the world map.

She is a very lovable character. She may be loud. She may be overacting and violent. She may not be the strongest. But that makes her a very interesting individual. Her strength is not her best asset, but her wit is. Clearly, her skill in navigating is a very important factor in the crew. And everyone trusts her in this field.

What I really like about Nami is that we both love oranges. Haha. Jokes aside, I really like Nami because she has her own ways. Since she knows her weaknesses, she uses her assets very well in saving not only herself but also for the crew as well; very contradictory to her greedy self in comical situations.

Luffy. The strong, stretchy, trustworthy, hungry (lol) and the best captain anyone would wish for. The protagonist of the series that for sure, everyone loves. He’s a simpleton. Easily amazed and astonished by things around him. But despite being distracted, no one can stop him from his dream to be the Pirate King. The most interesting part is that, even though they say (and it’s true haha) that he’s an idiot, his crew believes that he is fit to be the Pirate King.

Most fans like Luffy because he’s strong, funny, etc. But for me, I like Luffy because of his instincts. I just love how he knows who to trust and what to believe. Sure he can be stubborn but from his quest on gathering more members, we all saw how he relied on pure instincts.

Even though Nami deceived the group, he refused to believe that Nami killed Ussop. Because he knew that she is a good person. Not only with Nami but with Robin as well. His instincts around people is great. Fit for a leader.

The pair. The part we’ve all been waiting for haha. 

Like I said LuNa is one of the most popular ships in the series despite Oda-sama’s claim that he wouldn’t put romance in the manga since it’s all about adventure.

Truthfully speaking, before I even started One Piece, I’ve always shipped them even though I had no idea what One Piece is about. When I saw them and found out their names I just immediately thought they’d look good. And reading the series didn’t disappoint me.

Of all the Strawhat members, I’ve noticed that it is Nami who’s interacted with Luffy’s hat the most.

And we all know that the straw hat is Luffy’s most precious treasure. Non-fans of the pair pointed that Luffy just entrusts it to her because she can take care of it unlike Zoro, Sanji or anybody else in the crew since they are fighting. That’s a good point but this cover is quite intriguing

Well everyone’s enjoying the beach. Luffy’s just fishing, I see no reason why his hat could be in danger if that’s what non-fans are pointing. It doesn’t look like it can be put to danger with a sea monster since this page shows a resort.

If the hat doesn’t make any sense, I do find the following cover intriguing as well.

So we have a laundry day and… who’s holding Luffy’s shirt? I just find it interesting when Nami holds on to Luffy’s belongings. On a laundry day, since it is Nami with the most number of outfits, it would make much more sense to see her working on her clothes.

My love for this pair sparked more during the Arlong arc and we all know why. The arc is all about Nami’s past which is the key to her behavior and character. Who will even forget this scene?

Saving/helping someone isn’t really much of a big deal when it comes to Luffy. He’s just like that. He wants to help people especially those he already consider important for him. But…

…this one’s a winner!! In line with this scene, I loved the promise Luffy made. To protect Nami’s smile.

If there’s one thing I must really love about this pair is that they can be natural with each other. They don’t have to be somebody else in front of each other. As we can see in other stories, even if the guy is not romantically in love with the girl, he tends to say “I don’t want to look weak in front of her”. Such guys have tendencies of not wanting to look weak in front of those they protect.

The thing with this pair is that when I read a panel with Luffy and Nami in it, it just seems so normal, so typical, so natural. Because some other pairs look forced. But LuNa doesn’t seem like one even though it’s not canon.

I keep on pointing natural because I’m thinking that IF Oda-sama will fulfill LuNa fans’ wishes, the pairing would be quite accepted. Nothing to be surprised about. Like… even if people are not into romance, (if possible) seeing Luffy and Nami ending up together won’t look a rushed and forced pair.

I am still in the middle of reading but spoilers suggest that another woman is in love with Luffy (Boa Hancock) and a lot are actually a fan of her pair with Luffy. I do wish to not be disheartened. Whatever the latest chapters may bring, I shall continue to hope for this pair to happen. It must happen. (I wish)

Day 3 - Luffy x Nami - NATURAL - Challenge 3 Done

Yay! Because of this 30 Days Challenge I shall type and type type for 30 consecutive(hopefully I can) days!

Day 2 - What was your very first ship?

First huh? Well from what I remember, the first anime I watched is Cardcaptor Sakura but I never shipped Sakura and Syaoran. I was a kid back then. Didn’t care about romance. Well maybe a bit but… I’m not sure. Sakura and Syaoran are pretty young as well so, yeah perhaps not my cup of tea.

With all that, I guess my first ship would be Sasuke Uchiha x Sakura Haruno from Naruto.

For a first ship, this is pretty common for everyone else. SasuSaku is one of the most popular ships in the Naruto Fandom and I can understand why. Though for me, this is pretty odd. Because in all my ships, this is the only ship that I love and hate at the same time xD

As big as the fandom is, it does not surprise me that this pair has a lot of haters. Most of them being yaoi fangirls (no offense, this is an observation I tell you) and Sakura haters.

I am not sure if I really should be typing this because I am not super updated with the manga OR a super fan who knows everything about this pair and the Naruto universe, but here I am anyway for the challenge :)))

Sakura Haruno. The kunoichi. The beautiful (in my opinion) pink-haired girl who only knows how to praise Sasuke and hate Naruto. Even though she has a lot of haters, and I sometimes hate her too, yes she is my favorite female character.

Sakura is nowhere near perfect. Not the most badass female character for a shounen manga. She keeps on hating Naruto thinking that he’s just an idiot, instead of looking at his positives. Thinking that he ruins her moments with Sasuke. But then he always protects her anyway.

And she praises anything and everything about Sasuke. Even though he clearly doesn’t return her affections, she still chases him anyway, trying her best to impress him. Even her long hair is just for him, everything for him.

Sakura is a clear picture of a girl becoming obsessed. To put it bluntly haha. Well I guess she was a picture of a girl becoming obsessed. Since after a lot of things, the so-called obsession turned to love anyway. Maturity that we all notice comes in Shippuden.

Sasuke Uchiha. The heartthrob. This handsome boy who excels in almost everything he does. Cocky. Smart. Strong. An almost perfect guy who has a terrible past. I won’t go on the details since we all know how cruel his past is.

This past of his, built his character. Full of vengeance. Blinded by it, he failed to appreciate  the things given to him. The things he has right now. And his decision leads us to one of the turning points of the Naruto series.

The pair. Realizing all of it now, it’s pretty funny. When I was watching back then, I just thought “Wow Sakura’s beautiful. I like her.” (Yes. I was 7 I think that time haha) Then I saw Sasuke. “Woah that guy’s so cool. They make a good pair.”

Basically that’s how it started xD Until I confirmed that Sakura does like Sasuke. Somehow that time, I really didn’t mind Sakura’s flirting attempts with Sasuke. But I did hate parts of her often insulting and beating Naruto.

The liking for this pair got stronger when Sasuke got the cursed seal. When he was going berserk and Sakura hugs him. That totally made me say… “There’s something… great about them” It is supported by the following episode in which when Sasuke was about to lose control in the exam, he remembers Sakura’s tears and he regains control again.

I wasn’t able to explain the great feeling I was talking about. I just… I just want them to end up together. I just though…what’s up with those scenes between them? Why give time to such scenes when they aren’t significant or mean nothing anyway? Those moments aren’t fillers anyway.

This isn’t about how they look physically. How they look good or cute together. How they make a good pair. I just really think they should be together.

After finishing the first season, Sakura loving Sasuke is already evident. Offering him help with his revenge is not something that a girl will just say on a whim. Even though most of Sakura’s decisions are just to impress him, offering him that is clearly not to impress him but to tell him that her feelings are true. That she’s willing to sacrifice her life for him.

Sasuke on the other hand… is someone I can’t read. She’s a friend to him that’s one thing for sure. He cares for her. He may not show it like how Naruto does or other people do, but he does. Love? Seeing it all, I can just say that because of revenge… love is nowhere near his goals.

When Sasuke thanks her and leaves the village, that just breaks my heart. That was such a breaking moment. It was so bittersweet.

Even though most of these parts are about season 1, and a lot has changed ever since Shippuden, I just can’t stop shipping them. I am not the number one fan. I do look forward to the two of them getting together, but I think I’d also be alright even if they don’t end up together.

But I do wish that they do get a closure. If they don’t become a couple, maybe a scene showing that Sakura’s moved on (not necessarily with someone) continuing training to be a better ninja? I don’t know. I’m just hoping Kishimoto-sensei gives us the best ending. Not for shipping fans, not for Sakura fans but for all the fans of the series.

Naruto’s love life and feelings is another story. Maybe I shall write a blog about him one day haha :)))

Day 2 - Sasuke x Sakura - BITTERSWEET - Challenge 2 done

Day 1 - What is your current favorite ship?

Saying current is rather hard, since I ship a lot. It’s already a habit of mine, watching an anime/reading a manga, a ship immediately invades my mind even though they’re not canon :l

I have a lot of favorites as well. So saying a current favorite ship is pretty difficult.

But for this blog, I decided to talk about Allen Walker and Lenalee Lee from D.Gray-Man

I’ve always wanted to write a blog about this pair but never had the chance.

First, Allen is your not so typical boy for a protagonist. His personality is a bit… mixed up. The manga chapters have portrayed that when he was a kid, he’s a disrespectful brat. Not trusting others. An outcast. A boy named Red Arm. It was only after Mana died and after Cross found him that a drastic change in his personality comes. He starts acting like Mana. The gentleman.

The series started with Allen as a smiling gentle boy who’s very formal and respectful. Trust comes when he feels welcomed to the Order and treats them as his family.

After a lot of arcs, challenges, and trials, he starts coming back to his old self. A lot of fights with Kanda and Cross. His dark side showing when gambling. In which, Johnny points out in a chapter; that he’s become more casual with them, and Lenalee saying “I like that casual!”; and a blushing Allen haha.

Now Lenalee Lee. One of the few female exorcists of the Order, who considers the Order a blessing and a curse. It is the Order that separated her from her brother and almost brought her to death (suicide attempts). But having her brother join the Order, she starts considering it as her family, as her world.

She is portrayed as the responsible exorcist, often scolding her brother and even the very stoic Kanda. Behind her almost perfect image are her dark experiences and fears of losing the people she love.

The pair. What makes me ship this pair is the bond that they have. Clearly, they have a lot of interactions since they are partners. But remember, Lenalee has a lot of interactions with Lavi and especially Kanda but the bond that formed between Allen and Lenalee in a short period of time is incredible.

The slap was priceless. For Lenalee to be angry at Allen. It wasn’t exactly an ideal scene, but if Lenalee hadn’t done that, perhaps Allen wouldn’t realize how much he is already important to her.

A lot of scenes are dedicated for these two. But perhaps one of the best is when Allen died. Everyone was devastated but Lenalee was the most affected. I just loved that when Lenalee talked to Anita… Lenalee said… “Allen is alive. And that’s what I decided to believe in.” The very fragile Lenalee learnt how to be stronger. Through Anita. For Allen.

The next thing I loved is that, on the scene that Lenalee used her boots to the limit, Komui’s mug cracked. And Allen heard her voice calling him. I’ve always considered Komui and Lenalee’s bond to be the strongest but in this scene… Lenalee’s on the verge of her death. And her voice reaches Allen? :”>

On Allen’s side, I am very impressed that Allen considers her cute. (blushing, and the fanbook states too) I mean most protagonists are either head-over-heels over a girl OR currently not interested in a relationship OR completely dense. Surely, Allen can be dense at times, but it is very impressive (yes haha) that he’s not your typically oblivious guy.

It was also unforgettable that in his dream, when he saw Lenalee cried, he tried reaching on to her and the 14th stops him. Onto the more recent chapter, when the 14th possessed him and Lenalee called him, he immediately turned back to Allen. This actually made me form a theory that Lenalee’s the heart lol clearly, cancelling the 14th.

Skipping A LOT of hints, I’ll go directly to their separation in which Katsura Hoshino actually gives them a few pages alone. Making only Lenalee the person Allen said goodbye too. This made me tear up.

Right now, since D.Gray-Man’s on hiatus, I can’t state more but AllenxLenalee will always remain to be one of the greatest pairs for me. Even though I’m reading alot of other mangas, this pair will always have a soft spot for me. And it is still my current OTP for 3-4 years haha :))

I do wish to state more but, this’ll be a novel. It’s just that these two has a lot of  sweet moments that requires tons of words to describe.

This blog is more of a person rather than my usual.

So yesterday, I was really bored. I was online til late night (since I’ve got one week free of classes) and none of my close friends are online anymore (cuz they have classes tomorrow or maybe they’re just sleeping). I decided to roam around websites in which I have accounts.

The truth is, I create accounts on networking sites because I’m bored just to try it out. Usually, I’m one of those people who are first to the site. In short, I get to enjoy the site while the population there is still small.

Most of the time, none of my friends know the site. (I got a facebook account with no friend just because none of the people I know have it. Same with twitter.) But when the site goes with a boom, I’ll suddenly get requests but will be inactive.

So cuz of boredom, I decided to check my twitter seriously yesterday. I just noticed (yes just yesterday) the changes like people can add pictures, and more. I updated my avatar and display pic. Updated everything. Then it just kicked on me.

I started tweeting almost nonstop.

Moral? None. Was just sharing this weird and embarrassing confession. (Gawd.)

I used to be this person who questioned smiles. I was around seven years old (or so) when I always kept a blank or serious face. My mom often commented on how I should smile more. My teachers from school started noticing me too just because of this expression that I had.

First of all, it’s not like I was glaring at them. And of course I knew that I wasn’t smiling. I just thought that smiling was something you have to do when you’re happy. It was a matter of common sense for me. A pretty simple way of thinking around that age. What I didn’t understand back then was that how come I was the only one noticed? It’s not like all my classmates had these huge grins on their faces. Not all of them were smiling as well.

People say that if I smile, I’ll look more beautiful. But being beautiful was not a goal or something I wanted back then. Beauty? What about it? Why do I have to look more beautiful? Why do I have to smile?

When I reached high school, unconsciously, I started smiling more often. Not necessarily because I was always happy or because I was faking it. It came natural. And on the issue about myself not smiling before was something that cannot be explained at that time.

Second year high school when I met my best friend, the smiles turned more into laughter. Skipping third year (cuz I’d call it the worst year of my high school life), when I reached fourth year, the laughter turned into hundreds of smiles, laughter and even a combination of tears and laughter.

Now that I’m in college, Mom told me that I look more beautiful because I smile a lot unlike before. (Yes basically the same thing she told me when I was a kid) Friends, classmates, him, and other people encourage me to smile more. Smile. Smile. Smile.

And this question hit me. Why?

Why do people tell me to do the same thing? What is it with this smile? What is it with mine?

The act of smiling was something done when indulged in happiness. Smile. Happiness. Beauty.

I realized. Since a smile brings out someone’s beauty and signifies one’s happiness, no wonder people asked for it. The people you love will not want anything else from you but a message saying that you are happy.

And as to the reason why one has to smile? I shouldn’t have questioned that. There are alot of things why you have to smile.

Smile because you’re reading this blog now. Not all people can read.

Smile because you can see this post right now. Not all people have internet access, laptop/mobile, etc.

Smile because you can.

Smile because you have people that love you.

Smile because the Lord God is with you.

Smile because you’re alive :)

For this time’s blog I’d like to share one of my favorites pairings, Yoh Asakura and Anna Kyoyama from Shaman King.

As we all know Shaman King is a manga/anime from a long time ago but I’d say definitely one of the best. BEWARE FOR SPOILERS read at your own RISK

I remember that this was aired on television when I was around Grade 4. About 6-7 years ago but my love for this pairing is still fresh in my mind.

When I was watching I remember loving this but having that common doubt that “what if they don’t end up together” kind of thing. But that was one of the biggest mistakes I did before xD

As embarrassing as it may sound, back then I DIDN’T KNOW that they were in love with each other and they are to be married! I shipped them but was oblivious to the fact that they are engaged and had special feelings for each other!

I figured out that it was because I failed to watch every episode. I only found out when I reached that episode when Anna was training for the white beads thing to defeat Hao. It was mentioned that she’s Yoh’s fiancee and I was like “EHHHHH REALLY?” you can just imagine the failure I felt back then.

That time I didn’t have any computer so I didn’t know the internet world yet. My anime life revolved around what the television provided. When we had the computer and the internet that’s when I found out more about this pair. But because of lots of works and other stuff that I kept myself busy with, I stopped midway.

Now that I’m in college, during my Christmas break, that’s the only chance that I got to do more works revolving around Shaman King like reading the manga. And once again I felt ashamed.

I just read the Osozeran Revoir Arc like a month ago and I got addicted to Shaman King again.

This arc was a total Yoh x Anna arc. It showed that Yoh actually fell in love at first sight with Anna! and once again I DIDN’T KNOW THAT! I felt ashamed once again xD

Now you might ask aside from the rants above, what’s with the title? Camouflage. I just realized. Yoh and Anna’s love can be compared to a camouflage. It’s not direct like in other mangas. Explicitly stated through hugging/kissing/confessing scenes. And this is one of the reasons why I love this pair.

Anna is a tsundere. We all know that. But I love the fact that unlike other tsunderes… Anna does not deny the fact that she’s in love with Yoh. In fact the statement easily escapes her lips not because she doesn’t mean it but because she really does.

And Yoh. Actually since I heard from Anna how she felt, that’s when I started doubting Yoh like what if he was only scared of Anna and nothing more. But that’s what I felt until I read their arc. I shouldn’t have worried. Yoh clearly loves Anna. Love at first sight that eventually grew more. And hey he really thinks she’s beautiful ne? :)

After some evaluation I found this pair to be one of the most unique pairs ever. No cliche fights/arguments. No cliche scenes like boy falling over girl (though Anna might kill him that’s why).

The best thing about their relationship is that it’s direct and its foundation is trust.

Camouflage. You won’t notice at first glance but by seeing through it, you’ll see what’s hidden.

so here’s my take on Sword Art Online’s (or simply SAO’s) final episode.

SPOILERS coming, do not read if you haven’t watched :DD

Before sharing, I’d like to use this part for background texts.
As we all know from episode 24, Kirito was able to defeat Sugou in the Alfheim Online world after a few How-can-you-do-that-to-Asuna-I-hate-you-Sugou-so-much-I’d-kill-you-scenes and is now heading to the hospital with that mix of eagerness, doubt and joy on his face.

That brings us to the opening of the last episode in which riding his bike on that snowy night, he lunges and thoughts about what happened were on his mind.

Reaching the hospital, Sugou welcomes him with that psycho look together with a knife. A few death-threat scenes and voila! Of course Kirito wins again. And finally for the most awaited part, Kazuto (let’s use Kazuto now since they are in the real world) finally reaches Asuna’s room and is welcomed by her awake figure.

They exchange greetings, welcoming words, introductions, hugs, and of course a kiss. 

This scene was very touching for me. Of course as a fangirl and as someone who’s favorite genre is romance, I would’ve squealed, jumped and y’know do random fangirl stuff. But NO. Surprisingly I didn’t. Well truthfully perhaps it wasn’t really a surprise.

SAO has been one of those anime that truly touched my life. Especially on the romance part. Kazuto. Asuna. Of course they are anime characters but you can truly see how humane they are. Trapped in a game. Fight or die. That’s been their life for over two years. And just when Kazuto finally beats the game, he wakes to a world where his inspiration, the source of his strength and of course his love is trapped in another world. What’s more is that, she can disappear from his hands for a week if he fails to save her.

Instead of acting like a fangirl, I’d like to be honest that this scene made me all tear up. We all know that they’ve shared a kiss in the game more than once. On the verge of death. After getting married. And of course when the game ended. But take note. This is actually their first REAL kiss in the REAL world.

I emphasized well on the word “real”. Up until now, everything was virtual except their love of course. The feel of touching each other. Talking to each other. SAO and ALO might have been almost real. They might have almost touched each other. They might have almost kissed each other. But there’s still this very thin boundary between virtual and reality.

And I just loved how, everything has been virtual before this and just before the kiss, we witnessed how both of them had that very small flinch. It wasn’t stated but we can interpret it as “Is this really the real Kazuto/Asuna?” A sign of doubt that’s really humane to feel.

After a last hug and more exchange of words, right before Kazuto’s eyes, SAO’s Kirito and Asuna smiles on him and slowly walks away hand in hand. This is a very crucial scene. This clearly states that they are both completely released from SAO. That they are completely released the virtual world. That they can now continue what they have started from the game.

That ends the first 6 minutes of the anime. And sadly as I’d like to say, those were the only best parts (in my opinion of course).

The next scenes focus on how they both cope with the real world together with other SAO players in a school specially created for them.

Here we see everyone happy but of course still adjusting to reality. I was glad to see how Kazuto and Asuna were acting like a normal high school couple yet it was as if they were almost mirroring how they were in SAO. And this is a really great part for it just shows that whether in virtual or in reality, the personalities and emotions they have shown to each other are true and sincere.

Now I’d like to skip being detailed with the next parts. The next parts show a party where everyone congratulates and thanks Kazuto formally for beating SAO. Everyone seems to be satisfied greatly grateful to him. He also manages to take care of the seed Kayaba’s consciousness gave him. These parts talk about how virtual MMO’s have been doing and how the industry is currently at chaos (but somehow stands because of the seed)

The next scenes focus on Sugu’s/Leafa’s relationship with Kazuto/Kirito.

Here’s one of the disappointments I’d like to talk about.

Don’t get me wrong! I’m not a Sugu hater and I wouldn’t fill this blog with hate. But I was just disappointed. I did want a clear closure between Kazuto and Sugu. But how this episode ended wasn’t clearly a closure for me at least.

Sugu is shown to be depressed talking about Kazuto being so far away and out of reach. In ALO, as Leafa, she flies to her limit in which Kirito catches her. They share a dance through the system’s new feature. And Leafa talks about her feelings of being left out and him being unreachable.

Aincrad. The floors from SAO are seen to be transported next to the World Tree. In short a fusion between SAO and ALO. Kirito suddenly says to Leafa that his stats are reset and he was asking if she could still be with him. Of course she joyfully agrees.

Their friends show up and talk about beating the game. Asuna in a new fairy form, soon follows and invites Leafa as well. Kirito smiles at the sight as soon as Yui joins him. He talks about going to a dungeon and voila! An ending!

Here’s my take. It wasn’t exactly the kind of closure I hoped for. Sugu is still clearly in love with him. I’m not rushing her to move on. But the invitation of helping Kirito slay monsters and beat the game. Is that good enough? That just seemed too far-fetched. Asuna’s appearance is clearly implying that of course she has no chance, but it’s very vague.

I think it would have been better if it was both Kirito and Asuna inviting her and she stares at both of them, even with a pinch of pain in her eyes, still managing to smile because she’s happy for him. (She is not faking her happiness. She is truly happy. But she is still in love with him that’s why there’s pain and that’s normal)

Also, that would imply a good closure for him and of course her feelings.

What’s stated here are just my views and opinions regarding the last episode. 

And I’d also like to clear out that the last episode wasn’t a disappointment for me. But for Kazuto and Asuna’s part, they were just concluded too soon since their conclusion was feature at the first part of the episode. I would’ve wished to see more from them until the end. Cause the last part seemed like Kirito and Leafa’s happy ending xDD (with the exclusion of Asuna’s appearance of course)

So here’s something that I discovered. Though “discovered” is not the right term. Perhaps the best word to use is “realized”.

So being girls (or guys if you’d like to include yourselves), we’re quite problematic when it comes to love. Well I mean, that’s the mainstream topic a teenager can bring up. Crushes, broken hearts, one-sided love, mutual understanding, conflicts, quarrels and the list goes on.

Facing these problems, what we usually do are the following:
(by usually, am not saying all of us did this) 

1) Cry ourselves to sleep and feel better the next day

2) Rant

3) Smash pillows

4) Talk to our friends about it

5) Cry some more

6) Think (and sometimes Overthink)

7) Post here on tumblr (or twitter, facebook, or [insert other social media site here])

8) Draw (for aspiring artists); Write (for aspiring authors) 

9) Seek advise from love guru/love blogs online

10) Talk to parents (for those with supportive parents)

The list is endless for we each have our own way of doing things and that includes facing problems.

But what I realized that actually the best thing one can do is actually to pray. And to read verses from the bible if your religion permits it.

Am not a religious person. In fact, this is my first blog mentioning anything about religion. But am serious about this. Nothing can compare to the feeling of fulfillment after praying. While praying, you can just surrender all of your problems to God. Of course solutions don’t come in an instant after praying. But after talking with God, something will fill you and tell you that everything will be fine.

I wonder if any of us have taken time to pray when we have problems instead of doing the ten things I’ve listed above.

Okay this is not a romantic kind of love, but in this blog, I’ll talk about love for music. I was inspired to create this blog due to something that happened just a few minutes ago. And seriously, I feel a bit pissed :/

Let’s call her JC. Yes, her, she’s a girl.

She’s a rather close friend of mine. We’ve known each other since high school. More than four years already. Even though we’re close, we never reached the point of best friends, because she has this personality that I can’t tell her everything and that she can’t understand everything I can reveal to her. I think she considers me her best friend, but not to offend anyone or to sound rude, I consider her a close friend but not a best friend.

So JC and I are both fan of anime and manga. We often contradict on pairings and other stuff but we never fight about it cause that’s just immature. But just a few moments ago, we reached something that offended me. Though offending is rather an overstatement.

We were chatting. Since we’re both on college, we rarely meet unlike our high school days. And she changed the topic and pasted this link of Hyuna’s song. No offense to any K-pop fan but honestly, am not a fan. And when I say am not a fan, doesn’t mean I hate it but am just.. not a fan. Simple as that. Listening to it isn’t my cup of tea. Whatever song. I think it’s because of the beat. Most people say the beat is awesome and blah blah blah. But it’s not just about the beat being awesome. I guess am not a fan of those kinds of beat itself. And the lyrics ain’t helping.

One may say, how about Jpop? You’re a fan right!? Actually that’s a big NO. Am not a fan of Jpop. Am a fan of Jrock which is different. And another might say, hey how about the lyrics? Unlike Korean, I find it easier to speak or sing Japanese because I had lessons when I was younger.

So when she sent me the link, I politely refused listening. First is honestly, am not interested. Okay. Did I sound like a jerk? Is it so bad to be uninterested? We all have different preferences and I am being honest here. And what did she say? She compared me to this little sister of hers (apparently JC describes her sister as rude, brat and [insert alot more harsh stuff here]) and it was offending to be compared to her.

You see how talk about music slipped to personal stuff? Seriously? Okay I sounded really bad here. I borrowed this dress from her due to school stuff and it’s still with me right now. I have favors okay. And I had this quarrel with her. But simple music reference? Can’t we have respect here?

What I’m pointing out here is that we all have our own love for music or music genre. It is great to share what you like but it’s not good to force it into people. She knew from the very start that I was never a fan.

A blog different from my usual ones (love/romance blogs)

Ito ang pinakamalaking kaaway ng mga estudyante sa kolehiyo. Singko. Yan yung kapag narinig mo, ang sakit. Nakakapanlumo. Pero syempre hindi sa lahat. Effective lang to dun sa mga unibersidad na Uno ang equivalent ng 100.

Oo masakit ang singko. Sobrang sakit. Kasi kapag nakuha mo siya, ibig sabihin kailangan mo ulitin yung subject. Pwede pa yung INC eh. Incomplete. Ibig sabihin before the year ends, kelangan may maisubmit kang requirement para magkaroon ka ng grade. Pero syempre kung yung mga sinusubmit eh bagsak lahat, milagro na lang siguro makakapagbigay sayo kahit tres man lang.

Pero iba pa rin yung sakit kung alam mo na hindi mo deserve yung singko na nakuha mo. Yung tipong chineck mo lahat ng mga sinubmit mo at out of ten, isa o dalawa lng naman ang bagsak mo. Yung tipong, oo sa final ka sumabit pero binalewala ng teacher mo yung efforts mo sa mga nauna niyang pinasubmit na di naman din biro. Yung tipong, every week/every meeting nagpagawa siya nang nagpagawa ng mabibigat na load of work tapos di niya pala kokolektahin lahat nung pinaghirapan mo hanggang sa yung oras mo kulang na at di na sapat para pag-igihan pa yung finals mo.

Yung tipong yung pinakatamad at pinakabatugan mong blockmate eh sila pa yung sinuwerte na makakuha ng INC o tres man lang despite having more failing marks than you. Tapos nung napagdesisyunan mong idespute at ipaglaban yung grade mo, ang maisasagot lang sa’yo ay sumabit ang final mo, mahirap ang subject, ayos lang yan, ulitin mo na lang yan.

Pwede sana eh kung libre lang pero tatlong units yun. Naturang 2000 pesos per unit p naman.

Tapos naglalabasan yung mga grades ng mga kaibigan mo. Yung bestfriend mo, maayos ang grades. Tas ikaw? Maayos lahat maliban dyan sa nag-iisang singko na yan. Yung kapag inaverage mo yung grades mo, qualified ka para mag-apply ng scholarship.

Tapos nung naglabasan yung grades. Yung tipong tinatanong ka ng blockmates mo, “Uyy!! DL (Dean’s Lister) ka ba?” Grabe. Pati blockmates mo, alam kung hanggang saan ang capabilities mo.

Oo sobrang sakit ng singko para dun sa mga estudyanteng hindi nila deserve ang grade na yan. Pero ano nga ba ang magagawa nila? Minsan, nasa prof din talaga kung ipapasa o ibabagsak niya ang isang estudyante eh.

Pero ano nga ba ang good side nito? Kahit gaano kasakit, meron pa ring mga bagay na maganda rito.

Una, mabibigyan ka ng motivation para ipakita dyan sa prof mo na yan na di mo deserve at isang malaking pagkakamali ang pagbagsak niya sayo.

Pangalawa, maaaring sign na ito para sabihin sa’yo na ibang course/university ang dapat mong puntahan.

At pangatlo, pinakita sa iyo na sa lahat ng bagay, dapat ibigay mo lahat-lahat ng kaya mo para kahit ano pa mang resulta ang makuha mo, wala kang pagsisisihan.

So ano nangyari sa selos issue na to?

Ayon sa blog ko before to, tinanong niya ako sa chat kung ano ang reaksyon ko sa DP niya. Sa totoo lang, nung panahon na iyon, naging desperado ako. Nag-invi ako at di nagreply. Di ko kasi talaga alam yung irereply ko. Nag-isip-isip ako. Matagal. Almost an hour. Tas in the end, I decided na gusto ko na ring sagutin yung PM niya.

So nag-ol nako. At nagsimulang magtype. Kaso lang nung ieenter ko na, bigla naman siyang nag-offline. Pero ok lang. Inenter ko na.

Ang nilagay ko, indirect pa rin. Sabi ko “hmmmmm magiging honest ba ko? Pag naging honest ako mahabang usapan to eh. Basta wag mo na lang palitan” yan yung words ko. Bakit nga ba yan ang sinabi ko? Una, kasi totoo namang hahaba yung usapan pag naging honest ako. And totoo, di ko kaya maging honest that time :)) Second, kasi ayoko namang palitan niya  yung DP niya just because of me. It’s his choice and besides, for the good reason naman kung bakit niya ginawang DP yun eh.

And then gabi na. Di ko na iniisip na mag-oonline siya. Nagulat na lang ako chinat niya ko. Nag online pala siya ulit. Sabi niya sa akin sabihin ko daw sa kanya. Kahit sobrang katiting daw na ayaw ko ng DP niya, sabihin ko daw at papalitan niya agad.

Lalo lang ako naguilty. Willing siya gawin yun pero, I think the issue is not the DP. Siguro nga nammiss ko lang nga siya.

Ang sagot ko ay isa na namang mahabang “Hmmmmmm” at pinagpipilitang hahaba ang usapan kapag naging honest ako bsta wag niya na palitan.

Ang reply ba naman sa akin eh sa loob daw ng 5 minutes eh papalitan niya ang DP niya kapag daw wala akong nasabing dahilan. Nagbibilang na siya. And I had no choice

“WAG MO KO PAGTATAWANAN AH” pambungad ko sa kanya at dahang-dahang nagtype ng mga rason na oo inamin ko na nagseselos ako =/////= grabe hiyang-hiya ako nun. Ang hirap pala umamin :/ tsakaaaaaaaa basta, gustung-gusto ko ipagsiksikan ang sarili ko sa ilalim ng bato.

Tapos nakita ko nagttype na siya. GRABE sobrang kinakabahan na ako. Nababaliw na. Tas may reply na siya. “haha ang cute :))))) sige palitan ko na”

So ayun nga. Pinalitan na po ni Lalaki ang DP niya at sinabihan akong wag maguilty. Kahit daw nacucutean siya eh masama daw kapag lumala ang selos kaya ililigtas niya na daw ako sa pagseselos na to.

AHAHAHA so happy ending naman ang first experience ko sa selos.

To think na love can make me feel a lot of things? :) In the end siya lang din makakasolve ng mga bagay-bagay na di ko maintindihan.

Naalala ko yung nagpost ako ng blog about sa pagseselos ng mga lalaki dati. Nilagay ko dun na ang cute nila tingnan kse nga, the fact na nagseselos sila, di ba ibig sabihin nun, binibigyan nila ng importansya yung babae and alot more of stuff na positive. Ang negative lang naman kasi kapag out of hand na at sobra naman magselos.

Pero I realized na ang jealousy o selos eh di pala ganun kasimple na pakiramdam.

Sa totoo lang, kaya ko iadmit na di ako selosa pero first time ever… naramdaman ko siya kaya nga may blog akong ganto eh. Para lang ishare  yung nararamdaman ko dahil wala akong mapaglabasan ngayon xD

So ano kelan ko nga ba to naramdaman? Una ko siyang naramdaman nung di ko pa alam na may gusto din sa akin si Lalaki. Bale may status kasi siya at nakamention si Gal. Tinawag niyang “Baby” That time napakahaba ng pang-unawa ko kaya naman dahil ang alam ko, wala akong pag-asa sa kanya, eh di di ako nagreact at mild lang yung pagseselos nun.

Pangalawa, nung nagtext siya sa akin ng “Baby, ano gawa mo?” First, alam kong hindi talaga para sa akin yung text. Second, never niya ako tinext ng ganun kaya medyo ouch din xD

Pangatlo, nung nangyari yun, tapos na siya umamin sa akin na gusto niya rin ako. Bale syempre nakadorm siya at matagal na kaming di nagkikita. Eh di aaminin ko na na sige namimiss ko siya. Okay, constant naman communication namin. Pag busy siya, understanding naman ako, di ko naman siya nirerequire na magtext maya’t maya at araw-araw. And well nakikita ko lang sa FB yung photos niya. Di ko tinitingnan pero nakalagay naman na tagged siya at kasama si Gal. Well same course kasi sila eh. Namention niya nga dati na lagi sila nagkikita. And ayun naging close na nga sila. Wala nainggit lang ako sa nakikita ko sa newsfeed xD

Pang-apat, nung birthday ko. Dapat daw 12 tatawagan niya ako kaso lang nakatulog siya. Bale 5 am siya tumawag tas binati ako. Binaba niya agad kasi may sakit ako at pinagpahinga niya. And then nakareceive ako ng text nun nung late morning binati nya ako ulit. Nagthank you ako pero di na siya nagreply. Busy siya so ok lang sa akin. Pero medyo na-ouch ako nung nagbukas ako ng FB. Suspended kasi classes nun. And well, nasa newsfeed ko ang status ni Gal at magkasama daw sila ni Lalaki. Parang ako naman, “Okay… kayo na magkasama :/”

Panglima, it’s been a while ever since nakaramdam ako ulit. And nangyari to ngayon-ngayon lang which is a month after my birthday. Bale busy pa rin siya like usual and well, nakkwento niya si Gal sa akin. Nakikita ko rin sa newsfeed lahat ng wall posts and comments at status na nakatag silang dalawa. Hinayaan ko na lang. Bale di nga kasi pwedeng malaman ng lahat tungkol sa amin kaya wala kaming public posts. And then this week, nakkwento niya sa akin na busy siya at onti lang pahinga at tulog kaya naman nung online siya sabi ko mag off na siya. Sabi niya sa akin after niya daw magpalit ng cover photo at DP, off na daw siya. 

Bale pagkapalit niya chinat nya ako ulit at napansin kong parang wala siyang balak mag-off. Tinanong ko kung bat di pa siya nag-ooff. Sabi niya sa akin “Ah nagising kasi dahil sa chat namin ni Gal”. Di ko alam kung bakit pero iba yung tira sa akin nung sinabi niya. Tapos nagpaste pa siya ng mga picture niya sa chatbox. Yung isa dun, picture nila ni Gal. Ang tanga ko din. Sinabi ko ang cute nila tingnan. Sa totoo lang, if I were an outsider, I’d think na couple sila.

The next day nababaliw na ako. Inamin ko na rin sa sarili ko na nagseselos nga ako kay Gal. I want to make this clear na mabait si Gal. Di siya malandi. May someone din siya. Sadyang close lang sila ni Lalaki. I have nothing against her. Siguro nga nagseselos lang ako kasi, at least sila lagi magkasama. Habang kami, matagal nang di nagkikita. Namimiss ko nga lang siguro siya.

Ngayon naman. Di ako nag-online ng maaga. Ngayong gabi lang. Kasi nag-iisip ako at ayoko muna siyang makausap. Kasi alam kong ako yung may problema. At ayokong magbitaw ng mga salitang di ko naman minemean. Pagbukas ko ng FB, bumulaga sa newsfeed ko na nagpalit ulit siya ng DP at ang DP niya eh yung DP nila ni Gal na mukha ngang sila. Di ako nagreact agad. Tiningnan ko yung iba kong notifications at kunwari wala lang. Pero napansin ko na may PM at galing pala sa kanya.

Nagpapaalam siya if ok lang daw ba sa akin yung DP niya? Kaya niya daw yun ginawang DP kasi daw sa dami ng photos nila together, akala daw ng iba gf niya si Gal. Kaya ginawa niyang DP at nilagyan ng caption na “sister” niya nga lang daw si Gal. Sabi niya pa sa aking, be honest daw. Papalitan niya daw if ayaw ko nung DP.

Feeling ko ang selfish ko naman if sinabi ko sa kanya na palitan niya. Oo uncomfortable ako pero… ayokong magdemand sa kanya. At alam ko namang ako lang yung nakakaramdam ng ganto. Naiisip ko din na paano niya malalaman if di ko sasabihin? Pero ayoko kasing maapektuhan yung friendship nila ni Gal porket uncomfortable ako. Naiisip ko na dapat iovercome ko tong jealousy na to :/

Okay ang haba na ng blog ko. Puro rant nga lang talaga. Siguro nga sobra na kasi ako mag-isip.. Di na tama yung takbo. Sana makaget over na ako. Ayoko ng gantong pakiramdam. Mabigat. At nakakaguilty din. Kasi alam kong wala silang kasalanan.

So I’ve been reflecting on myself recently and I just can’t help but laugh and giggle on to what I have become.

Ironically, before anything about romance and stuff happened, I used to be this girl who kept on giving advise to people. By advise… meaning advise in different aspects, including family, friends, financial problems and even love, despite having zero experience about it that time.

Right now after all that’s happened. Meeting him, becoming friends with him, falling, and here, still about him but in a reserved situation after finding out it’s mutual, I wanna laugh.

I used to know what to do. But now that am here in this situation, I can’t believe that I’m actually slow in these kind of things.

It was yesterday when he chatted me and apologized that he was too busy and failed to text, call or chat me. Of course I understood that that’s why am a bit surprised by his apology. Then he replied that him being busy is not an excuse. Which in turn I asked what does he mean and he didn’t give me an answer.

The next thing is that he was speaking in a weird way. And he said (translated) “I speak like this because I haven’t made you laugh today.”

Of course I smiled, but then I replied with “Why?”

He told me something that just confused me. “If a smile is a girl’s best make up, what more is laughter?”

I asked what was the relevance and what it meant. What I got was a reply saying that he’s laughing at me.. and he even called me DENSE and SLOW.

It’s really funny that someone like me who gives advises gets a remark :))

And all true honesty, up til now, I still don’t get what he meant =))

Yung feeling na, oo pinaglaban mo opinyon mo pero parang nagmukha kang OA. Di naman ako yung dapat maoffend. Kaso lang parang ako pa yung naoffend para dun sa friend ko na babae.

Close friends pa naman kami. Dapat inisip ko na lang na wala siyang minemean na masama dun. Siguro di ko lang din talaga nagustuhan yung sinabi nya lalo na kung sa akin yun sinabi.

Ayan nagguilty tuloy ako. Malamang lalaki yun. Normal lang sa kanila yung ganong usapan. Dapat inintindi ko na lang din. Kesa naman sa nagbigay pako ng violent reaction

Tas kung kelang nasanay nako, tsaka siya busy? Nahiya na tuloy ako magtext, ayoko naman na baka maramdaman niya na obligado siyang magreply.

Naiintindihan ko naman na busy siya eh.. kaso lang.. :/

Howdy dear readers! So here I am again with yet another blog about romance and anime.

So I wonder how many of you encountered masquerade scenes from anime, manga, fanfic and other stories. It has always amused me how masquerade seemed mainstream in terms of fluff and romance but it still manages to get the readers’ interests and tickle their romantic need.

I remember coming across this in several stories and manga. There’s Gakuen Alice (manga) by Higuchi Tachibana with Natsume and Mikan as the highlight of the chapter of course. Then there’s this Filipino story in wattpad entitled Diary ng Panget” by haveyouseenthisgirl, in which it was used a couple of times if I’m not mistaken for Cross and Eya. There’s also one from Romeo x Juliet (anime) with of course none other than Romeo and Juliet xD And from a Novel by Julia Quinn entitled An Offer from a Gentleman with Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie.

So what is so romantic in masquerade balls/parties?

According to traditions(as to what I have watched and read), the people to dance in the ball will be wearing masks covering the upper half of their faces, leaving the eyes and lower half of their faces visible. Legend says (in the mangas I read), that when the music starts, they should start looking for partners. Several pieces will be played and no one knows the number. 

But what one must know is that your last partner is the most crucial part of the event. Because before playing the last song, people will have to remove the masks and see who their partner really is.

In some stories, masks will be taken off after playing the last song. And in some, the last partner will be the person destined to them.

As much as it may sound ridiculous to others, I can’t help but think of it as something really sweet. But who knows? Masquerade romance will be romantic if you think of it as something romantic :)

Whatever it may be to others, the fact that it amuses me will not change.

So it’s been a while ever since I wrote a blog but a certain someone requested for another blog from me..?? Okay here you go.

Not so long ago, I came across this manga called “Aozora Yell”, from the creator of a really great shoujo manga entitled “Koukou Debut”.

This scene is about Mr. Glasses-Dude (sorry I really fail at remembering names :l) and Ms. Popular and Beautiful (see?).

Mr. GD and Ms. PB (let’s call them that for now) are not really the main protagonists of the manga. Though they are one of the major characters, their roles are friends of the two protagonists. But despite their roles in the manga, this scene is one of my favorites that’s why I decided to share it.

Girls. Girls are known to be fragile creatures, especially when we deal with emotions. We tend to act by what our heart says. Of course not all, and I do not mean this the negative way, but this is most likely the typical nature of girls.

Guys. As for guys, they are known to possess this pride of being men. Unlike girls, they have this mentality of keeping what they feel or not fully expressing their emotions through tears or crying. Stereo-typically speaking of course.

In this scene, clearly Ms. PB wants to make Mr. GD realize that crying does not make a man lose a part of his masculinity.

I really can’t help but love this scene. Surely it’s too early to say that romance is in the air. Or these two are still lacking details, but most relationships or romancing start with simple understanding between two people.

And let’s just say that Ms. PB was able to poke Mr. GD’s cold heart by using his manly tears :))
